New Customers
Applying for New Service

Murphy Electric Power Board welcomes new customers to our system, and we are happy to help make your moving and relocating process as smooth as possible. Please call or stop by our office and see one of our customer service representatives.

Here are a few things that we will need from you:

  • Fill out an application. Applications are available in our office. You can also click on the appropriate link below and print an application.
  • A copy of your photo ID. You can provide us with one, or we can make a copy for you in our office.
  • Pay a security deposit. Residential services require a minimum $150 security deposit. Residential customers who have, or develop, a poor payment history may require a higher deposit. Deposits for Non-Residential Customers vary and are based on previous usage history at your new location. Please contact us for an exact amount.

Once the application process is complete, we can start your new account on whatever day you specify. However, we do not transfer accounts on weekends or holidays.

New Construction

For new construction projects, one of our engineers will meet with you to determine the best route for getting power to your new location, and what material and labor will be needed. Please call our office to set up a time to look at your project. Below is a list of our construction costs.

*All new construction projects must be inspected by the Cherokee County Building Department.
